Axelrod

I found out about this dude about two years ago (I know. Mad late to catch on), and have been collecting his music ever since. David Axelrod is a monster of production, and has provided many breakbeats for Hip Hop producers such as Pete Rock, Diamond D, Dr. Dre, and DJ Shadow, just to name a few. "Song of Innocence" is the first album by Axelrod as an artist, and it is a classic! The first part contains musical renditions of William Blake's collections of poems. You are sure to hear many samples on this album. Earl Palmer (drums) and Carol Kaye (electric bass) put the "umph" in the funky rhythms. Axelrod has produced albums for Lou Rawls and Cannonball Adderley, as well. You are sure to see more from this man.

Enjoy!!!
